KGO's Bernie Ward made many references to this post on his show last night, and for good reason. It rocks.
The whole thing is great, but I really liked this part:
I have long been frustrated by the US press's tendency to talk about Bush's cabinet officers as though they were independent agents, and to put Bush on a pedestal. Let me just follow through on some further assertions in the spirit of Stephanopoulos's remark.F#*king-A. As Bernie mentioned last night on his show, "Bush Did It!!" should become the rallying cry for all the people out there out there who are not only tired of Bush, but are also tired of how members of the corporate media try to isolate Bush from all the other incompetent people with whom he has surrounded himself.
It is fruitless to speculate about who dissolved the Iraqi army in May of 2003, and why. (This move contributed to the rise of the Sunni Arab guerrilla movement). Bush did it!
Who ordered the Marines, against their better judgment, to launch a reprisal attack on Fallujah after four Western private security guards were killed and their bodies desecrated there? Bush did it!
Who authorized torture at Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib? Bush did it!
Who appointed Michael Brown, a man with no experience in emergency management, head of FEMA? Bush did it!
Who let Bin Laden escape from Tora Bora? Bush did it!
Who completely destroyed the fiscal health of the US government and forced us into massive debt, squandering Clinton's surplus and endangering social security? Bush did it!
Bush is the president. He makes the decisions. If there has been a major bad decision, it has been his.
Who outed Valerie Plame as an undercover CIA operative? Bush did it!
And by the way, in previous posts, I've made reference to a Rove-type attack directed toward Professor Cole from members of the war-loving extreme right who just hate the fact that Cole kicks their ass on a daily basis when it comes to America's debacle in Iraq. But since I don't make it a habit of visiting radical right wing websites, the only example of such an attack I was able to provide was a reference to Christopher Hitchens' comments regarding Cole made during a debate with George Galloway.
Fortunately, however, I know people who actually pay attention to the untreated sewage that emerges from the radical right wing's portion of cyberspace, so I can now give you some links to places like that if you are interested. And I'm sure the Cole post referred to above will bring out more of this, because it is certain to piss off a lot of Bush-lovers out there.
