Nooooo!!!

Last week, I tried to cheer up members of the GOP over the fact that they are losing ObamaCare as an issue for the 2014 election.  I told them:  "Well, look on the bright side, Republicans -- you'll always have Benghazi! to fall back on."  But if conservative commentator Charles Krauthammer has his way, they won't be able to do that.

Krauthammer told Republicans yesterday that the time has come to throw in the towel on Benghazi! and move on to some other fake scandal:
"Politically speaking the administration has won. They ran out the clock. If we had a select committee from the beginning, really had coherent hearings unlike what we’ve had, which were disjointed hearings that let all things sort of slip away, we really would have been somewhere. We would have gotten to the bottom of this. But as a political fact, this thing is done," [Krauthammer] said on Fox News about congressional Republicans' many investigations into how the Obama administration handled the attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya.
You can watch the video of Krauthammer giving up on Benghazi! here.

Yeah, but he says it much better (and ruder) than I ever could . . .

Here is my theory about why Benghazi! came about: The Republicans were mad that the uppity Negro in the White House actually got bin Laden when Bush and Cheney couldn't get him after trying for eight years. Some of these Republicans were so angry about Obama killing bin Laden that they went out of their way to assert that Obama shouldn't have gotten any credit for it (even though these exact same motherfuckers would have been calling for Obama's lynching had the mission failed).

So when the tragedy in Benghazi occurred, the GOP saw it as an opportunity to get back at Obama for having the nerve to follow up on his campaign promise to kill bin Laden even if we did locate him in Pakistan. So what if a shitload of similar attacks occurred under Bush/Cheney's watch and dozens were killed (including many Americans) -- the GOP just couldn't be bothered with facts like that, nor could the so-call libral media.

But when the war-weary nation just didn't bite at the Republicans' attempt to turn Benghazi into Benghazi!, the GOP -- energized by their intense hatred for America's first Black Commander-in-Chief -- kept searching for some "conspiracy" angle that just wasn't there.

I thought they'd give up on their bullshittery after the 2012 election, but once again, the GOP bought into their own bullshit and Benghazi! lived on. I hope Republicans ignore Krauthammer's advice on this particular "scandal" and continue to push it, because I find it pretty fucking hilarious.
