Seems weird, right? Woodward carried the White House's water, so to speak, for his last couple of exploits, and now, we have State of Denial. Arianna compares it to being the 100th person to call 911 to report a car crash and claim the credit for alerting the authorities.
My cynical ass would probably go there, too - but for the nagging feeling that Woodward - like most of the media - was seeking access, which these hubris-filled gasbags in the White House gave with glee. Difference is, while the rest of the media treated the White House like their master for the honor of that access, Woodward saw enough and went to work.
Call me freakin' Pollyanna. I'll only add that the Woodward factor is definitely in play as you read this. In the face of everything that's finally boiled over in the last several days, the right's two biggest defenses are:
Cable news is talking about the book too much.
Bill Clinton had oral sex almost a decade ago.
Folks, they have nothing now. NOTHING. Thanks, Bob, for at least providing what appears to be a long overdue tipping point.

Good Stuff From Hoff
This Hoffmania post -- titled "Liking Woodward Again" -- pretty much mirrors the debate going on in my head lately about Bob Woodward:
