No, Fredrick isn't the name of yet another incompetent official in the Bush Administration. It is the name of the player who was the last one standing of the ten players who participated in last night's epic poker tournament at Danimal and Liz's place.
Fredrick knocked out Justin, then Erika, and finally me, to claim the grand prize, then donated a good portion of his winnings to Danimal's Katrina Relief Effort. On the last hand, he slowplayed a set of nines and I went all-in shortstacked with nothing and was destroyed. Thus, Fredrick got revenge for the miracle 7 I hit in the last tourney to knock him out. Tim, who won the poker leg of the 2nd Annual Crane Prairie Bass/No Limit Hold 'Em Tourney, appeared for his first title defense and finished fifth.

Hey, I want to play poker against you! :-)
Fredrick here. As a noted Republican once said, "I'm outraged at the outrage!" And given my personal disgust at the Republican administration and their ineptitude which in now piled on their greed, corruption, and general lack of humanity, this is the last time I shall quote a Republican (unless it's Abe Lincoln).
It's been months since I won a poker night so I think we can say, as they say in baseball, statistical luck finally found me. Especially when all-in with Liz and she busted with pocket aces, drew another ace on the flop, and for some inane reason I stayed in and hoped for help to get a straight which I did. It's one thing to receive a bad beat, and it's sometimes troubling to deliver a bad beat. That's part of the allure of poker and that's all I have to say about that. Except to say Harold earlier in the game predicted I wouldn't last 10 minutes, then to meet Harold at the last head to head and win ... Harold what say you now?
It's an outrage -- that's what I say.
